For human beings, the experience of time is inexorably linked to aging, which follows a fairly predictable chronological line, but for the eel the aging process seems tied to something different: it is a fish that transcends its state as fish and thus pushes us to question what our time and our place in the world are. Through autobiographical storytelling, with almost fairy-tale traits, and encounters with some women who populate her life, the author undertakes a brief introspective journey into the mysterious world of eels and the feminine to explore the cycle of life, old age and the theme of memory.
